Hey all... thought some of you might be interested in this:|
What are you doing on saturday, April 15th, from 11am-6pm?
Does it involve watching fire eaters, belly dancers, magicians, jugglers, comedians and live re-enactments of medieval and renaissance combat? Will you be eating garlic herb roasted turkey legs provided by the runcible spoon, or enjoying free juggling lessons from the IU juggling club? What about falconers? Were you expecting your saturday to involve live demonstrations of renaissance era falconry?
If you were expecting to pass a dull, ordinary, 21st century day on Saturday, April 15th, then have no fear, you have been saved! This Saturday, April 15th will be the first annual Bloomington Renaissance Faire. It will be FREE ADMISSION. The faire will take place in Dunn Meadow (near the Indiana Memorial Union), and will include all of the wonderful things mentioned above, and much much more... The faire will run 4 stages, a large historical reenactment area (including a blacksmith and a combat area, of course), a somewhat less historical but equally large marketplace area (handmade jewelry, children's toys, leather goods, tarot, henna, etc, etc...), and a variety of other interesting attractions.
You should come, it's gonna be good :-)
